Images
Here are some of the photo's I took. I wanted to put in a LED but unfortunately it didnt work. So I then just had to work with the shadow and lighting that I had. The shadows actually created amazing and effective shadows. Its seems now a little out of focus, but thats just the close up on the shadow.
This is my final render showing my three models that I made in 3ds Max. I choose the third one because it was alot more like my precedent images plus i could put in a LED to add a more effective light. I really like the style of the other two. I now wish that I could have developed my choosen one a bit more.
Development Images
These are my development sketches that I did for my 3D printed model. These are showing the development and how my ideas were formed. Showing a top view, side view and front view. I made sure the inspirations from my precedents images were clearly seen from my sketches. I have created a vase like shape. I will then put in a LED so that the light with create a effective patterns from the cut-outs. I will design my first piece in solid works and then try develop it in 3Ds max. Im still not very good with using these programs.
Here is the pattern i used to make my 3D Printed model. I did try make a vein type pattern but i was unsuccessful.

Still working on this render
Im still working on my peice. I still have to put on my texture which im finding difficult to create in solidworks as im not too experienced with using it. Im wanting a bowl like ornament with a texture that creates an effective shadow.

What software will I use? (Solidworks or 3DS Max)
I think I will use both. I will create my shape in solidworks and develop it more in 3ds max. I think this will be the best solution as I dont have the knowledge with making patterns from scratch in 3ds max.
Project Three - Pattern

Rendered Iteration
This is my final render. I have added in a reflection to add effect. This is my first iteration from my 81. I decided to use this because I like the idea of using the puzzle piece.
Progress for model
Here I am testing with string and wire. I have used white thread, silver bendy wire and black thread. I think the back thread looks more effective that the white thread. I will used the bendy wire also.
Small Models
Model one -Square pieces going from big to small. Im using card and glue to keep it together. This is testing out the idea of how I want my model to sit.
Model Two - this is showing zig zagging which i really would like to do with my model. I will connect my model with 2mm wire and bendy wire and also string. Ill test using these materials.
Model Three - Here, I have cut out a puzzle piece. I thing i will use this idea but have it connecting to my model one.
Model Five - This is just showing how it would look if i used a cube as the body of my model. It doesnt look too effect thats why I might use the zig zagging effect.
All the models together showing certain part of the models I would like to portray in to my acrylic model.
More Devlopment - sketches
Development Sketches - I did a few more sketch up drawings of how want my model to look. I liked the zig zagging effect so it wont be a plain cube. Ill use wire and thread to keep the model in place. My iteration will be showing in the centre of the squares, going from big to small. Im scared that if i use string it could make my model look messy. I will make up small models of parts of my main model.
Progress for model
So, I have decided how I will be connecting my model together. I will use very thin bendy wire and also black string. My model will be zig zagging which will create an effective shadow when I have to take pictures of it. The puzzle piece in the middle will still be going from big to small. I have made my model in illustrator already and will now wait on the lazer cutting

Rendered Iteration
My 81 iterations: My main iteration is the purple puzzle piece in the middle of the twirl.
Better view in back and white.
Note: Will upload a screen shot of my iteration on 3Ds Max shortly
Working on illustrator
I am just working on Illustrator, and playing with my puzzle piece. Working out layout and sizing etc.
Final shot on Illustrator. Ready for laser cutting!
Sketches
I am mind mapping ideas that I thought would be effective and interesting. Five small sketches. Working with sizing and the shape.
Another Precedent Image
I really like the way the boxes are stacked and it has inspired me to do the same with my acrylic model. i also like the reflection given so i want to do something similar with my render. The only thing I will have to work out is how to stick it together without using glue and tape. I like the use of the shadow and lighting also. It makes a simple image like this look very effective.
Precedent Images
Image one: I chose this image as one of my precedent images because I liked the stacking idea that this person has used and I wanted to portray this idea into my work as it would look very effective.
Image two: I also chose this image cause I like the way its laid out from big to small and I wanted to have this effect in my work.

Final Render Iteration
This is my final rendered iteration. This is the best one because of the layout and the way my precedent images inspired me. I like the way I have connected the puzzle and my iteration together as if they belong. The texture on the iterations stands out because of the bright colours on a white background which I find intriguing.
